Week 8

This week I made my bulletin board for Mrs. Weaver. I liked doing this project a lot because it allowed me to use creativity to make something for another class. For this bulletin board I made it on ancient Egypt. I had this really cute border that had pharaohs on it and it matched the background. Then i bought some pictures of ancient Egypt stuff and it came with a label to go with every picture. Also to go along with the bulletin board they can play a game where the teacher gives a definition and the students run up to the board and tag the picture that belongs with the board.

Week 7

This week in teaching class we are learning about lesson plans and state standards. We are learning about what teacher have to put in their lessons plans like hands on activities and the materials the students will need to do the activity. Then you have to include the state standards in everyday lessons and Fcat stuff. We are going to make our own lessons plans for a grade we want and go to that class and teach the lesson and do the activity with them. I think this will be a fun project.

Week 6

This week in teaching we are making Wiki spaces which is a page you can create to add information on so that people can learn from. My topic is higher education. On my Wiki I wrote the requirements to get accepted into different colleges and universities. Like the University of Florida and Polk State College. It was interesting to see the different standards to get into an university verses a community college.
One thing that happened during this week was that two of my teachers gave a presentation on thier families and their backgrounds. I found it really interesting becuase one teacher made a presentation all his kids and he talked about how he did in school and what he went to college for, ect. Then the other teacher talked about where her parents were from and where she grew up. She told us the story about how she married her husband (which was really cute) and she also talked about how she works at a college and told us what it is like to be in college. I think that every teacher should do this because it lets us know more about our teacher since they are always wanting to know more about us. We can also learn lessons about life from them since they are older than us, like the teacher that talked about being in college.
